Warriors vs Jazz Prediction

Western Conference Playoff Lock and Playoff Hopeful Battle It Out

The Golden State Warriors will host the Utah Jazz on Monday night. This game will be exciting, as both teams are in love with the three-ball. We’ll see if the Warriors can keep the Jazz in check tonight as the postseason approaches rapidly.

The brand new Warriors arena has been kind to them. They have 6 fewer losses at home than they do on the road with the same amount of wins. Contrary to the Warriors, the Jazz has 14 of their 18 losses on the road. Safe to say the Jazz love playing in Utah.

The Jazz have solidified their playoff position as either the one or two spot, but they still would love to maintain their first place. The Warriors are continuing to fight for a better spot in the play-in tournament.

Both teams are coming into tonight with a winning streak. The Jazz did end up getting the best of the Warriors back on January 23rd, winning by 19 points. But look for the Warriors to have a little more sense of urgency tonight as they are fighting for their playoff hopes.

The Jazz Balling Without Donovan Mitchell

The Jazz have been victorious in 7 of their last 10 games and are on a 5 game win streak. They have been the hottest and most consistent team all year. Utah has been very solid for the past 4-5 years but is still looking for that magical playoff run.

The Jazz’s most recent game was against the Rockets. They were able to win that game by 8, with Georges Niang leading the way with 24 points. Granted, Houston had their five usual starters all sit out with rest or injuries, so it was a relatively easy night for Utah.

As the playoffs approach, the Jazz are hoping to get their star player Donovan Mitchell back into the lineup. He has been dealing with a right ankle sprain, which is never fun for any athlete. He will be reevaluated around Friday or Saturday.

Mike Conley will also remain sidelined for tonight’s game with hamstring tightness. Wingmen Joe Ingles and Bogdan Bogdanovic will handle the load on offense, and Jordan Clarkson will come off the bench to produce as well.
Utah will have to keep in check arguably the most lethal player in the game right now, Steph Curry. Rudy Gobert will man the middle and be able to step any penetration from this Warriors offense.

Curry’s Excellence Has Provided the Warriors With Life

Without Stephen Curry, the Warriors would be competing with the Houston Rockets for the last place in the Western Conference. It is truly incredible what Curry has accomplished this year and how he has propelled this Warriors team into a playoff position as of now.

The Warriors have won their past two games and the most recent one against the measly Thunder. Curry was able to drop 49 points in just 29 minutes. Andrew Wiggins added in 18 points while the Warriors team blew out the Thunder by 136-97.

Kelly Oubre is still recovering from a wrist injury and will be out for at least another week. The Warriors will look to maintain their offensive pace tonight against the Jazz. Curry will be the prime focus of Quin Snyder’s defensive scheme, so who will step up as the Warrior’s second scorer and playmaker.

Golden State is battling it out in the Western Conference for a better position in the play-in tournament. Expect Stever Kerr and the Warriors to give it all they got in hopes of defeating this steady Utah Jazz team.

Pick and Prediction

The Utah Jazz are -2.5 favorites tonight on the road against the Warriors. Without Donovan Mitchell, I’m going to pick the Warriors at -2.5 tonight. Because of Curry’s out-of-this-world play, this will be a close game, and the Warriors may even potentially come out with a win at home.

Steph Curry is going to have 34 points, 8 assists, and 5 rebounds. Rudy Gobert will record a double-double in a losing effort to this electric Warriors team.

You can watch this matchup at 10:00 P.M. Eastern on NBA TV.

Pick: Warriors +2.5
