Week 3 NFL Predictions from USA Wager
Browns vs Steelers
The Browns take on the Steelers on Thursday Night Football. Pittsburgh has started off the year with a 1-1 record and looked terrific against the Bengals in Week 1. The Browns are coming off of a heartbreaking loss and are seeking revenge tonight.
The Steelers just couldn’t get the win against the Patriots last week and lost 17-14. Diontae Johnson and Najee Harris had the bulk of the yardage as Johnson had 57 yards, and Najee totaled up 89. Mitch Trubisky will get to showcase his talent and prove he’s a starter in this league.
The Browns really choked the game away in the 4th quarter against the Jets off all teams. Nick Chubb went ballistic, scoring 3 touchdowns on 17 carries. Amari Cooper finally got going and dropped in 101 yards and a touchdown through the air.
Both of these defenses are very solid, and I think this is an evenly matched game. The Browns looked very good on Sunday, but I think Pittsburgh’s defense is going to get the best of them. I got the Steelers to cover here.
- NFL Prediction by Drew Knuppel: Steelers +4.5
Vikings vs Lions
The Vikings will host the Lions in a classic divisional matchup. Minnesota has started the year off okay with a huge win against Green Bay, but then an ugly loss to the Eagles. The Lions have been the surprise of the season, battling the Eagles and then beating the Commanders by 9.
The Lions have been one of the best offenses in the league as they’ve scored 71 points in 2 games. Amon St. Brown had a breakout game with a total of 184 yards and two scores. De’Andre Swift was a workhorse in the backfield and will continue to get the bulk of the carries for this solid Detroit squad.
The Vikings still have some of the most talented players in the NFL, with Justin Jefferson and Dalvin Cook at the helm. Their problem has been consistency and the lack of defensive plays. They got destroyed by the Eagles last week and didn’t look good at all.
I’m going to take the Lions to stay close in this game. I don’t understand this spread at all, as the Lions have shown to be one of the best offenses thus far. Slam Detroit!
- NFL Prediction by Drew Knuppel: Lions +6
Patriots vs Ravens
The Patriots and Ravens is one of the premier matchups of the week. Baltimore really sold a 28-point lead in the 4th quarter against the Dolphins last week. The Patriots took care of business against the Steelers last week with a 17-14 point win.
The Ravens were led by Lamar Jackson’s brilliant performance in the first half. He had a total of 4 touchdowns, and he totaled 417 yards. Mark Andrews and Rashad Bateman each had 100+ yard performances and a score. Baltimore’s defense struggled mightily down the stretch last game.
The Patriots are a solid and consistent team. Mac Jones is still under center, and he’s thrown for 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions on the season. New England’s offense is still based on the run, and Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson are the lead backs.
The Ravens are the best team here and have the more dynamic offense. I do think they’ll stay close, but Baltimore will get the win in the 4th quarter with Lamar. Bet the Ravens!
- NFL Prediction by Drew Knuppel: Ravens -2.5
Panthers vs Saints
The Panthers and Saints go head to head in Carolina for Week 3. New Orleans lost a close game to the Buccaneers last week but got a close win against the Falcons in Week 1. The Panthers are 0-2 and haven’t looked good thus far.
The Saints are still missing Alving Kamara and are relying on Mark Ingram in the backfield. Chris Olave and Michael Thomas are the two constant receivers and Jameis Winston’s. Thomas scored the lone touchdown last week as Winston struggled with 3 picks.
The Panthers couldn’t get the job done in New York last week and lost 19-16. Christan McCaffrey was much more involved in the offense and tallied up 128 yards. DJ Moore also had a solid game with 3 catches, 43 yards, and a touchdown.
I’m worried about Baker Mayfield and the Panther’s offense, but I think they have more talent. The Saints don’t have a solid quarterback, and I think Carolina gets the win at home.
- NFL Prediction by Drew Knuppel: Panthers +3
Bears vs Texans
The Bears and Texans will duel in Chi-town this week. The Bears were able to get a surprising win against the 49ers in week 1, but they lost badly to the Packers last week. The Texans tied with the Colts and then lost to the Broncos in their first two contests.
Houston has Davis Mills under center, and he’s been average to start the season. Dameon Pierce rushed for 69 yards and has been the feature back. The Texans could not get the ball in the end zone whatsoever, but they were solid defensively.
The Bear’s offense was completely shut down on Sunday Night Football, and Justin Fields threw for a measly 70 yards. David Montgomery is the workhorse in the backfield and ran for 122 yards. Chicago just isn’t a great football team, but they’ll be on their home turf this week.
I’m going to take the Bears to get the win in a very low-scoring affair. Neither team excited me too much, so I’ll roll with the home team. Take Chicago!
- NFL Prediction by Drew Knuppel: Bears -3
Colts vs Chiefs
The Colts will host the Chiefs in what should be a close contest. Kansas City has looked great this year and blew out the Cardinals during week 1 and got a close win against the Chargers. The Colts have been awful and are 0-1-1 to begin the season.
The Chiefs have faired just fine without Tyreke Hill and have multiple guys that can make up the production. Mahomes had 2 touchdowns last week and 5 the week before as he continues his brilliance. Justin Watson got one score, and Jerrick McKinnon grabbed the other against L.A.
Indy’s offense has been in absolute shambles. Matt Ryan hasn’t been any good as they just lost to the Jaguars 24-0. Jonathan Taylor has surprisingly slipped in production and totaled up just 54 yards. Maybe having Michael Pittman Jr. back will boost this offense.
I’m definitely taking Kansas City here, but don’t rule out the Colts, either. They have a ton of talent and are bound to get it back together. Mahomes is too special and should find his favorite targets in Juju and Travis Kelce. Bet the Chiefs!
- NFL Prediction by Drew Knuppel: Chiefs -5.5
Commanders vs Eagles
The Commanders will go head to head against the Eagles, who are running the division right now. Philadelphia has a 2-0 record with two respectable wins. The Commanders couldn’t get the job done against the Lions last week and are now 1-1.
The Eagles are flying high with Jalen Hurts, who’s shown he is a capable passer as well as a runner. He spread the ball out for 333 yards and also ran for 57 yards and 3 total touchdowns. Dallas Goedert, Devonta Smith, and AJ Brown all had 69 yards or more and should continue their production.
Washington has scored plenty during their first two weeks, but the defense has had issues. They let up 36 points to the Lions but scored 27. Carson Wentz had 3 touchdown passes and spread it out to Logan Thomas, Curtis Samuel, and Jahan Dotson for the points.
The Eagles are the clear favorite, but this won’t be a blowout. Wentz will want to play well against his former team, and he should be in a good spot to cover at home. I’m taking Washington!
- NFL Prediction by Drew Knuppel: Commanders +6.5
Dolphins vs Bills
The Dolphins and Bills is the matchup everyone’s waiting for in Week 3. Miami was phenomenal in their comeback win against the Ravens last week. But Buffalo is clearly the best team in the NFL through two games with blowouts against the Rams and Titans.
Tua Tagovailoa had his signature performance with 6 touchdowns and a whopping 469 passing yards. Tyreke Hill and Jaylen Waddle were such a dynamic duo in that game, and each had over 170 yards and 2 touchdowns which is unheard of. Miami looks good.
The Bills seem to be a step above all of the other teams in the league thus far. Josh Allen is a force to be reckoned with as he threw for 4 touchdowns and 317 yards last week. Three of those touchdowns went to Stephon Diggs, who had 148 yards threw the air.
These two teams are so fun to watch and root for. The Bills look good on paper, but I think Miami’s chances at home are pretty dang good. I’m rolling with the Dolphins to cover.
- NFL Prediction by Drew Knuppel: Dolphins +5
Jets vs Bengals
The Jets and Bengals will play in New York for Week 3. The Jets got the come-from-behind victory against the Browns last week after losing a close contest to the Commanders. The Bengals are the surprise bust of the season as they’ve started off 0-2.
New York is still missing Zach Wilson and have Joe Flacco under center. Flacco has been the third leading passer in yardage for the first two weeks and threw for 4 touchdowns last week. Garrett Wilson had a terrific game with 102 yards and 2 scores.
The Bengals have been shocked that they’ve lost 2 consecutive games to start the year. Joe Burrow threw for just 199 yards last week and one touchdown to Tee Higgins. Jamar Chase and Joe Mixon were each held to under 100 yards and couldn’t get freed up against Dallas.
The Bengals are bound to bounce back with all of the talent they have. With that being said, I do think New York has a much better team this year, and they stay competitive. Take the Jets to cover!
- NFL Prediction by Drew Knuppel: Jets +6
Titans vs Raiders
The Raiders and Titans go at it in Tennessee for a week 3 matchup between two winless teams. Each squad has had a tough schedule as their losses have come against the Chargers, Cardinals, Bills, and the Giants, who are 2-0.
The Titans are really struggling on offense and have not freed up Derrick Henry whatsoever. He rushed for a measly 25 yards last week and just 82 the previous week. Ryan Tannehill has been downright awful and got benched on MNF in favor of Malik Willis in the blowout.
The Raiders couldn’t get over the hump in their two losses, but they lost by less than a touchdown in both contests. Derek Carr has looked fine to start the year and threw two touchdowns last week. Davante Adams only had two catches, but one was for a touchdown.
It’s clear who is the better team in this matchup, as Las Vegas has a complete squad with Darren Waller and Davante Adams as the wideouts. I’m rolling with the Raiders to blow them out.
- NFL Prediction by Drew Knuppel: Raiders -2
Chargers vs Jaguars
The Chargers take on the Jaguars at Sofi Stadium, with both teams starting the year 1-1. Los Angeles is now 1-1 after a close loss to the Chiefs last week. The Jaguars are 1-1 and played their best game in a while with a 24-0 win against the Colts.
The Chargers will have an injured Justin Herbert, but he’ll start this one at home. Keenan Allen is also questionable but was very productive in Week 1. Mike Williams had a phenomenal game last week with 113 yards and a deep touchdown.
Jacksonville’s defense was extremely dominant versus the Colts last week. The offense looked incredible as well, with Trevor Lawrence under center. Lawrence had 235 yards and dropped in 2 touchdowns to Christian Kirk, who’s had a dominant start to the year.
Los Angeles has a better squad, and they’ll be playing at home. I think they’ll run the Jags out of the stadium and take a big win home. Bet the Chargers!
- NFL Prediction by Drew Knuppel: Chargers -3
Seahawks vs Falcons
The Seahawks and Falcons will face off in Week 3. The Seahawks are 1-1 after their nice win against the Broncos in the first game. They were then blown out by a Trance Lance-less 49ers team last week. The Falcons have played hard but are 0-2 thus far.
Seattle has been rolling with Geno Smith at QB to start the year. He was very subpar against the 49ers, throwing for just 197 yards and then an interception. Tyler Lockett was very impressive and caught 107 of those yards.
The Falcons are 0-2 now and haven’t had much success in the winning column, but they’re playing well. They scored 26 points against the Saints and 27 versus the Rams while Marcus Mariota is at the center of it. Drake London has played well and caught 8 balls for 86 yards and a TD.
The Seahawks have the home field, but I really like what Atlanta has put together over the first two weeks. I’m betting on the Falcons to get the win and cover!
- NFL Prediction by Drew Knuppel: Falcons +1
Cardinals vs Rams
The Cardinals and Rams is probably the best contest of the week. Arizona took an incredible win last week against the Raiders in overtime, and the Rams got back on track with a win against the Falcons.
Los Angeles looked like their former selves last week on offense putting up 31 points. Cooper Kupp was phenomenal once again, with 11 catches for 108 yards and two touchdowns. Stafford looked okay, and he spread the ball out to all of his guys.
The Cardinals got the gritty win last week, and Kyler Murray made some spectacular plays. He ended up recording 177 yards and a touchdown. He got a pass completed to 9 different receivers, and Greg Dortch caught the touchdown.
This is a game that will come down to who plays better in the fourth quarter. Both teams are evenly matched, but I have the Cardinals getting the win here! Bet Arizona!
- NFL Prediction by Drew Knuppel: Cardinals +3.5
Buccaneers vs Packers
The Buccaneers will take on the Packers for a showdown between Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. The Packers got back on track against the Bears last week, and the Bucs have scooped up two solid wins to start off the season.
Green Bay scored 27 points last week, and Aaron Jones had a day! He totaled 170 yards and 2 touchdowns to lead the Packer’s offense. Rodgers also threw a touchdown to his new number 1 target in Allen Lazard.
The Buccaneers are going to have a rough time at the wide receiver position, with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Julio Jones all expected to be out. Russel Gage and Leonard Fournette will have to be the main guys for Brady to get the ball to.
This is going to be an exciting game with two star-studded QBs going head to head. I have to give the advantage to Brady and the Bucs, especially the way Tampa’s defense has played. Bet the Bucs!
- NFL Prediction by Drew Knuppel: Buccaneers -1
Broncos vs 49ers
The Broncos and 49ers will take the SNF slot and battle it out in Denver. The Broncos haven’t looked good on offense this season but got the win against the Texans last week. San Francisco is also 1-1 and now have Jimmy Garropollo under center.
The 49ers, unfortunately, lost Trey Lance to a season-ending injury, but Garropollo fit right back in. He took care of the ball and threw for a touchdown to big tight end Ross Dwelley. Jeff Wilson got the most rushes, but Deebo Samuel is still the main threat as a dual-back.
The Broncos are bound to get back in business this week after two sketchy performances. Russel Wilson hasn’t looked like himself and was 14/31 last week. Courtland Sutton played well and hauled in 122 yards. Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon were the main workhorses in the backfield.
This game has to be Denver’s to win. They made the blockbuster trade for Wilson, and it’s going to pan out tonight at home. I’m betting on the Broncos for a big win!
- NFL Prediction by Drew Knuppel: Broncos +1
Giants vs Cowboys
The Giants will host the Cowboys on Monday Night Football. Dallas got a massive victory last week with a 20-17 win against the Bengals. The Giants are the surprise of the NFL as they’ve started out the season 2-0.
The Cowboys lost Dak Prescott for a few weeks and are relying on Cooper Rush to play well. He had a respectable 235 yards in the air and a touchdown to Noah Brown. The run game for Dallas was also very consistent as Ezekial Elliot, and Tony Pollard split reps.
The Giants barely beat the Panthers last week, and Daniel Jones didn’t have any turnovers, which is the key. Saquon Barkley seems to be back to being a major threat as he totaled 88 yards. New York spread the ball out to a ton of different receivers and has started out very well.
I’m gonna have to roll with the Giants in this one, as they’ve proven they can win down the stretch. It’ll be a close contest, but I do think the Giants will get another win. Take New York!
- NFL Prediction by Drew Knuppel: Giants -1
