Colts vs Titans Prediction & NFL Odds for Week 3

by Allyson ParkSeptember 22, 2021
  • Carson Wentz is questionable for Week 3
  • Titans coming into this one as favorites
  • At 48 points, the total is too high

In the third week of the NFL regular season, the Indianapolis Colts travel to Nissan Stadium to take on the Tennessee Titans, with kickoff slated for 1pm EST on Sunday.

The Colts hope to get their first win of the season this week, as they are coming off of a heartbreaking 24-27 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. With an even 1-1 record, the Titans hope to keep their momentum going after a Week 2 victory over the Seattle Seahawks 30-33.

Betting Odds & Lines for This Game

  • Spread: IND +5.5 (-110) | TEN -5.5 (-110)
  • MoneyLine: IND (+215) | TEN (-265)
  • Total: 48.0 — Over (-110) | Under (-110)

Colts vs Titans Prediction: Spread

Beating the Tennessee Titans on the road would be a major task for the Colts under normal circumstances, and since their starting quarterback might not even be able to play, the Titans are certainly favorites to cover the spread, which is 5.5 points, for this game. I’ve got the Titans winning this game by one touchdown, so bet Tennessee to cover the spread.

Colts vs Titans Prediction: MoneyLine

The Titans are -265 favorites on the moneyline for this Week 3 matchup. When it comes right down to it, the Titans have more talent on their side, especially since Carson Wentz is questionable for this game, suffering two sprained ankles against the Los Angeles Rams.

Last week, the Titans pulled off an overtime win against the Seahawks, with a standout performance from running back Derrick Henry, who ran for 182 yards and scored three touchdowns. Against a shaky Colts defense, expect Henry to perform just as well, if not better than that this week.

The Indianapolis Colts are not in a good position. They were full of enthusiasm at the beginning of the season, but they kind of ran into a wall, or more accurately, two walls: the Seattle Seahawks and the Los Angeles Rams. Their record is now 0-2, and they will most likely be without Wentz this week.

Even with their starting quarterback, defeating the Titans would be quite a task. Since the Colts will probably be forced to start Jacob Eason, their chances of winning are significantly lower.

Whether or not Carson Wentz is active plays a huge role in the outcome of this game, but as of now, I’m taking the Tennessee Titans for this matchup, especially since Derrick Henry played extremely well last game. The Titans will probably be able to carry their momentum into Week 3 and beat the Colts.

Colts vs Titans Prediction: Total

The total for this game is 48 points, which I feel like is a little high, especially if the Colts are going to be playing with Jacob Eason. I think that the under is a solid bet for this game, even though the oddsmakers seem to be undecided for this one. It might go either way, but in my opinion, these two teams will not combine for 48 points.

  • Free Prediction: Under -110
