Colts vs Rams Prediction & NFL Odds for Week 2

by Devin WeberSeptember 14, 2021
  • The Rams will win this game
  • The Rams will cover the spread
  • The Game will be over the total points

The Colts once again play a strong NFC west team, this time being the Rams. This game will be a chance for the Colts to redeem themselves, and for the Rams to go 2-0 in the early part of the year. This game will help judge if Carson Wentz and Mathew Stafford can still play at a high level (especially Wentz).

Both teams will also try to get their running game on track, either team’s running backs combined for a hundred yards total. For the Colts their defense will want to show that the first game was a fluke. The Rams will want to keep their hot offense alive.

Betting Odds & Lines for This Game

  • Spread: Rams -4.0 at -110, Colts +4.0 at -110
  • MoneyLine: Rams at -2.00, Colts at +170
  • Total: Over 47.5 at -110, Under 47.50 at -110

Colts vs Rams Prediction: Spread

The Rams will cover the spread, this game will be closer, but the Rams will not win by twenty points. This will be a game where the Colts are playing catch up all day. For example the Rams get out to a 10 point lead, and then the colts become alive.

Both teams will score points, but it will be harder for the colts. Mathew Stafford was on fire during week one. Where Carson Wentz had trouble moving the ball consistently the whole game. The Colts had flashes of greatness, but overall had a bad day.

If the Colts had a more consistent offense I would say the Rams wouldn’t cover the spread. Also don’t expect a blow out, because the Colts will play better than the Bears did. The Rams are four point favorites in this game.

Colts vs Rams Prediction: Moneyline

The Rams will win this game, and they are the favorites for the week. It should be easy to see why we picked the Rams. One team blew out their opponent, where the other struggled and lost by double digits.

The Rams will have one of the best offenses in the league, so if the Colts want to, their defense will have to show up. However, the Colts defense did not prove that they could stop a Rams caliber offense. They struggled against a slightly worse Seahawks’ offense.

If the Rams can keep the ball, and not turn it over, they will win this game. The Colts must create a couple turnovers, and their offense must secure the ball. Also, Carson Wenz that can play consistently in the game would also be helpful.

  • Free Prediction: Rams -4.0

Colts vs Rams Prediction: Total

PointsBet has the total points being 47.5, which will be over. The final score of the game will be Rams 31 to the Colts 21. The Rams offense will have another good outing, and the Colts will play a tad better in week 2.

The Rams will be able to throw for big plays, don’t expect a huge amount of yards, but rather mistakes on the Colts. The Colts will have missed opportunities and their defense can only hold the Rams’ offense down for so long.

Prop Prediction

Carson Wentz will struggle in his week two matchup. He’ll throw for 200ish yards, 1 or 2 touchdowns, with a couple of picks. The rushing attack will do the rest of scoring for the Colts offense.

Mathew Stafford is going to continue his hot streak, and will become an early season MVP favorite. He’ll pass for 300 yards, with 3 or 4 touchdowns and will have no interceptions. Also, Darrell Henderson will have over 100 yards.
