Cardinals vs Vikings Prediction & Football Odds for Week 2
- Kyler Murray builds MVP resume
- Dalvin Cook struggles again
- Cardinals continue sack dominance
Week 1 has come to an end, and we now have a much clearer look at what teams we are dealing with this year. The Cardinals looked dominant on both sides of the ball Sunday vs the Titans, while the Vikings lost on a late-game Dalvin Cook fumble. Which team will come out on top this week? Let’s dive right in.
This week we get to see these two teams square up at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, in a game that now has Cardinals fans very excited. Kyler Murray looked dominant, and Chandler Jones 5 sack performance was one for the ages. Meanwhile, the Vikings’ offensive line looked weak, and Dalvin Cook suffered because of it.

Cardinals vs Vikings Prediction: Spread
Arizona is listed as a -4.5 favorite, and after week one, that certainly looks like a fair bet to take. The Vikings looked like they did last year on defense. Slow and rusty. Last week the secondary allowed Joe Burrow to complete 20 of 27 passes for 261 yards and 2 TDs. The defensive line did well and got 5 sacks against the Bengals.
The Cardinals, on the other hand, couldn’t have looked much better. Other than Kyler Murray’s one interception on the night, the offense was near perfect. Murray certainly redeemed himself with 4 TDs and 289 yards, along with 20 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. The defense looked amazing with Chandler Jones 5 sack performance while also holding Derrick Henry to a mere 58 yards and Tannehill to a rough 60% completion percentage.

Cardinals vs Vikings Prediction: Moneyline
The Cardinals should win this game by a handy margin if they can come through and play as they did last year. Kyler Murray is making an early bid for MVP with his 5 total touchdown performance against the Titans. The Vikings as a whole don’t have much of a better defense than the Titans did, so I expect the Cardinals to put up a similar point line as last week.

Cardinals vs Vikings Prediction: Total
While the Cardinals should put up another high-point performance, I can’t say the same for the Vikings. Coming off of a crushing 27-24 loss, the Vikings showed that they can’t offer Dalvin Cook much help. The offensive line struggled to block and resulted in Cook only having 61 yards on the day. This will lead to a decently high-scoring game, mainly on the back of the Cardinals.
Only being able to muster 24 points against a less than great Bengals squad shows that the Vikings will likely only get 10-17 against a significantly better Cardinals team. This would mean the Cardinals would have to get at least 35-42 points which isn’t impossible but won’t be easy either.
Free Prediction: Under 51.5
This week is shaping up to be really hard for Dalvin Cook. Between the Vikings’ terrible offensive line and the Cardinals’ elite defensive line, not only will Cook struggle to get touchdowns, he’s going to struggle to get past the line of scrimmage. Chandler Jones is coming off of a five-sack game which shows he knows how to break into the backfield, and between him and Watt, there is no telling how many times Cook will have to fight his way back to the line for any positive yards at all.
Free Predictions: Dalvin Cook will struggle again
