Cardinals vs Titans Prediction & NFL Odds for Week 1

by Devin WeberSeptember 9, 2021
  • Tennessee will win
  • The Titans will cover the spread
  • Game total points will be under 52

This is how both teams will kick off the season. Last year Tennessee made the AFC playoffs, and won their division. They lost in the wild card round against the Ravens.

The Cardinals finished 8-8 last season, because of a 2nd half season collapse. This year the Arizona GM expects the Cardinals to make the playoffs. They have a tough road (playing in the NFC west), and their road starts now.

Betting Odds & Lines for This Game

  • Spread: Cardinals +3 (-115) vs Titans -3 (+115)
  • MoneyLine: Cardinals +135 vs Titans -160
  • Total: Over 52 (-115) vs Under 52 (-105)

Cardinals vs Titans Prediction: Spread

The Titans will cover the spread, the game should be close, but winning by 3 or more points is easy to do. Titans will have an easy time covering the spread. The only way we can see the Titans not covering the spread is if they lose.

The game should be close with all the new additions by both teams. Also both teams will probably have a hard time scoring, because of the rust of not playing a full game in almost 6 months. It’s really not hard to cover the spread this week.

The Titans just need to score one field goal to cover the spread. This offense with Henry and Juilo Jones will score more than a field goal.

Cardinals vs Titans Prediction: MoneyLine

Last season the Titans were the better team, the biggest difference was the elite rushing attack from Tennessee. The Cardinals had stretches last season of greatness, but they also had games where they looked bad.

Both teams improved this off season, and should add a win or two for both teams. Both teams are playoff contenders, but Tennesses is the better team. Tennessee was way more consistent on offense and with a not great Cardinals’ defense, Derrick Henry could run free.

The Cardinals could win if they played like they did in the first half of the season last year. Tennessee has a bad defense, so if the run and shoot offense for the Cardinals catch fire it could spell a win. However Tennessee can still match up in a shoot out, with Derrick Henry and new talent on the wide receiver core.

We expect Tennessee to win the game. It will be a close game, but with consistency, and a better all around team the Titans will get the early season victory.

Cardinals vs Titans Prediction: Total

This is a tricky game to predict for total points, because this game could easily blow past the expected total point or could be under. We expect the game won’t make the total point, because both offenses will be rusty.

It will take a week or two for both teams to find their groove on offense. Both teams have the talent to make this a shout, but we see two offense’s teams starting off slow this season. The total points will be Titans 24 to Cardinals 17.

Prop Predictions

Arizona will struggle on offense, Klye Murry won’t play terrible, but he won’t play great. Expect a game where he barely passes over 200 yards, a touchdown, and a pick or two. He’ll have a good (maybe great season), but we expect it will take him a couple weeks to get to that level.

The Titans will live off Derrick Henry this year. He’ll want some revenge after his performance in the postseason. He’ll have a couple scores, 175ish rushing yards, and a couple receptions.

  • Free Prediction: Derrick Henry to have a couple scores, 175ish rushing yards, and a couple receptions
