Cardinals vs Packers Prediction & NFL Odds for Week 8

by Allyson ParkOctober 27, 2021
  • Will the Cardinals go 8-0?
  • Aaron Rodgers vs Kyler Murray
  • Matchup between two of the best teams in the NFL

In the eighth week of the NFL regular season, the Arizona Cardinals (7-0) host the Green Bay Packers (6-1) at State Farm Stadium, with kickoff set for Thursday night at 8:20pm EST.

This is a highly anticipated game. The Cardinals are currently undefeated, and sitting at the top of the NFC West. They just defeated the Houston Texans 31-5 last Sunday. The Packers only have one loss under their belt, and they are also first in their division, comfortably so. They are coming off of a 24-10 win against the Washington Football Team.

Betting Odds & Lines for This Game

Cardinals vs Packers Prediction: Spread

The Cardinals are 6.5-point favorites for this game, and while I think Aaron Rodgers will put up a great fight, I would be surprised if the Cardinals do not cover the spread for this game. The Packers are struggling with injuries, with Davante Adams out with Covid-19. Kyler Murray will certainly rack up the points, and I’m fully confident that the Cardinals will cover the spread on Thursday.

Cardinals vs Packers Prediction: MoneyLine

It’s an understatement when I say that I’m really excited for this game. The Cardinals and Packers are two of the best teams in the NFL right now. The Cardinals are the only undefeated team in the league right now. With a 7-0 start, they are off to their best start in franchise history. The Packers, on the other hand, have won six games in a row after losing their season opener to the New Orleans Saints.

These teams are two of the best teams in the NFL right now, and two of the biggest Super Bowl contenders in the league. While I think this will be a really close and entertaining game, I think that the Packers’ six-game winning streak will come to an end on Thursday night, and that the Cardinals remain the only undefeated team in the league.

The Cardinals’ offense, led by powerhouse Kyler Murray, has certainly been impressive this season so far. They have scored 30 or more points in six of their seven games. Murray currently has just over 2000 passing yards this season, averaging 304 passing yards per game and throwing 17 touchdowns.

Even though the Packers and Aaron Rodgers have been performing very well offensively too, they have been dealing with a lot of injuries this season, the most notable of which is wide receiver Davante Adams, who is currently on the Covid-19 reserve list. Their defensive coordinator is also out with a positive Covid-19 test.

The Packers are certainly a solid team who has impressed a lot this season, but ultimately, I think that the Cardinals will be able to pull off another important win in their quest for a Super Bowl appearance.

Cardinals vs Packers Prediction: Total

The total for this game is 50.5. Since both of these teams are offensive powerhouses, I expect this to be a really high-scoring game. I think the over is a safe bet for this Week 8 matchup.
