Broncos vs Steelers Prediction: Spread

The Steelers are facing a 1-3 start to this season through their first four games. Denver is currently sitting at 3-1 with their lone loss coming against the Baltimore Ravens. During the course of this week, the spread on this contest has been steadily decreasing. Injuries to key players have impacted and changed the outcome of how this game was expected to go.

There is one crucial factor affecting the spread of this contest as Teddy Bridgewater suffered a concussion against the Ravens, leaving his status up in the air this week. If Teddy is unable to go, Drew Lock will step in under center to take snaps. Lock was shaky in his limited reps against the Ravens.

Opposite of Drew Lock is Ben Roethlisberger who hasn’t looked very confident and is really beginning to show his age. This quarterback battle doesn’t pop off the page but what does stand out is the defense is in the middle of the pack so it should be a low affair.

Both teams are very similar in most of the questions that surround each of them. The offense has not been good for either side and especially the Steelers. Roethlisberger has very little left in the tank as his arm and legs are worn down. His ability in the pocket is steadily declining and the offensive line was already not great and it hasn’t helped the cause of getting the ball down the field.

On Denver’s side of things, Lock is likely to take snaps for the injured Bridgewater. Lock has physical upside, but he was benched for Bridgewater to start the season because Teddy was the better of the two quarterbacks.

Both of these teams feature some very solid defense, as stated earlier that are in the middle of the pack in the league. Najee Harris will have another busy week carrying the ball as this team has been very run dominant in the early going. Injuries have plagued both these squads offensively but thanks to each defense you can expect a low scoring running affair from both teams.
