This week’s matchup between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Seattle Seahawks is one that may be far better than each teams record shows. Jacksonville is currently sitting at 1-5 while Seattle is only one game better at 2-5 this season. With Russell Wilson hurt and Trevor Lawrence struggling, which team can pull through this week?

Jaguars vs Seahawks Prediction: Spread

The spread is set much closer than I thought it would be and here’s why. Jacksonville has only won one game this year against the underwhelming Dolphins. The Seahawks have won 2 games and they play in the most talented division in the NFL. They have to face the Rams, the Cardinals, and the 49ers each twice a year. That is an insane thing to ask of any team.

I don’t think the Seahawks are a bad team. I think the Seahawks are just a team that is not as good as at least two of its division rivals and their record will suffer because of that. Then injure their star QB and it spells disaster. 

I think Seattle wins and covers this spread pretty easily. Geno Smith isn’t Russell Wilson but he hasn’t been a  slouch either. Seattle’s defense could of course use some work but against a young Trevor Lawrence, they should be able to keep the Jaguars in check.

Jaguars vs Seahawks Prediction: MoneyLine

The Moneyline is my favorite place to look because it’s simple. Who wins the game? 

I simply can’t see a world where the Jaguars win this game more than maybe 5% of the time and because of that I have to stick with the line and take Seattle. Geno looks better as he gets more comfortable as the starter and the team itself really isn’t terrible. 

Trevor Lawrence just had his second game this year without an interception which bodes well for him and the Jaguars but the rest of the team still is not very good and Urban Meyer has not been a very good NFL coach.

Jaguars vs Seahawks Prediction: Total

Both defenses here are not very good. We know for certain that much is true. Seattle’s offense is hindered without their star QB at the helm and Jacksonville is of course in the hands of a very volatile rookie QB.

All that being said I have to take the under here. Neither offense is going to be able to break this game open even against each of these mediocre defenses which is likely going to force a rather low-scoring affair.
