Bo Nix grew up in a big way last Saturday in Death Valley. After years of struggles on the road, Nix led the Tigers to a come from behind victory in one of the most hostile environments in college football. Nix was benched against Georgia State the week prior, which may have woken the Junior quarterback up.

On the other hand, Georgia has looked every bit the part of a national title contender in the first five weeks of the season. The undisputed best defense in college football has put the Bulldogs in a position to make another run this season.

Saturday will be another important test for Nix as a passer, as the Georgia defense is bound to put them in some precarious situations. Can Nix work his magic two weeks in a row?

It seems unlikely that Georgia quarterback JT Daniels will play on Saturday, leaving the offense in the hands of Stetson Bennett IV. Bennett has been serviceable as the Georgia quarterback but a trip to Auburn will be his toughest assignment thus far.

Georgia might just be that much better than everyone else, but it will be interesting to see if Bennett can make the necessary throws if called upon in a hostile environment.

I would lean towards taking Auburn and the points in this situation. Georgia’s Achilles heel remains throwing the ball when forced to do so. Auburn should keep them behind the chains enough times to stay within the number.

Do I believe Auburn will win the game? No, Georgia’s defense is too dominant and there’s still a lack of trust with Bo Nix against good defenses. Nix should make a few splash plays off-schedule to extend drives and keep Auburn close, but not enough to win the game.

In conjunction with the Auburn pick, I like this game to stay under the total. Auburn can’t stay within the number if Georgia scores 37 points like they did last week. In a low-scoring struggle, Auburn can keep it close.

This game includes two passing attacks which are hard to trust. Bennett and Nix have not made enough plays in the past against good defenses to see this game flying over the total.
