Florida vs Tennessee Prediction & College Football Odds for Week 4

by Ryan BurksSeptember 22, 2021
  • Tennessee gives a spirited performance in this rivalry game.
  • Gators are simply too tough to beat at “The Swamp”
  • Defenses come up with some key plays to keep this point total down.

The Florida Gators host the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday night at “The Swamp” to renew one of the best college football rivalries in the country. This is a rivalry that has been lopsided over the past decade, and this matchup looks like a mismatch on paper as well.

Florida comes into this game with a 2-1 record, but that doesn’t tell the whole story. The Gators were just one play away from upsetting the Alabama Crimson Tide in Week 3, and are loaded with talent.

Tennessee is 2-1 on the season as well, but this will be the toughest test of the season for the Volunteers. If Tennessee is going to get back on the college football map then a win in this game would help.

Betting Odds & Lines for This Game

Florida vs Tennessee Prediction: Spread

There is no doubt that Florida is by far the more talented team in this matchup, and talented teams usually win in college football. Tennessee has some young talent on its roster as well, and it does appear that the Volunteers are headed in the right direction.

The fact that this is a rivalry game should help the spread stay closer than it normally would as Tennessee would love to pull off this upset. The Florida Gators are going to ultimately have too much offense, but things won’t come as easy for them in previous years.

Florida wins this game by double-digits, but they aren’t going to be three touchdowns better than Tennessee.

Florida vs Tennessee Prediction: MoneyLine

Strange things have happened in this rivalry over the years, but don’t expect a major upset to occur on Saturday. Even if Tennessee is able to push Florida for three quarters it will be the Gators that ultimately come out on top.

Betting on the Florida moneyline at -1400 is not worth it though, and the only option you should look at is taking Tennessee. This would result in a massive payout even though it’s not realistic that it will happen.

Florida vs Tennessee Prediction: Total

The games in the SEC used to always be low-scoring affairs, but that is no longer the case. Florida has an offense that can score points in a hurry, and Tennessee has shown that ability as well.

It might take at least 35 points to win this game, but you won’t see a team score more than that. Both teams are going to make some stands on defense, and that will keep the point total from getting anywhere close to 63.0 total points.
