Arkansas vs Georgia Prediction & College Football Odds for Week 5

by Ryan BurksSeptember 29, 2021
  • Georgia stays unbeaten with another Top 10 victory
  • Arkansas makes this a much closer game than expected
  • Look for a defensive battle to take place in this SEC showdown

The Southeastern Conference (SEC) is once again the best college football league in the country, and two of the best teams are set to meet up on Saturday. The Georgia Bulldogs host the Arkansas Razorbacks in a pair of 4-0 and Top 10 teams in this game.

Arkansas has a pair of Top 25 wins on their resume already this season, and this 4-0 start has come out of nowhere. The Razorbacks now must prove they can beat one of the elite programs in the country.

Georgia upset number 3 ranked Clemson in the season opener, but they have had a pretty easy time of it since. The Bulldogs were supposed to be a top team in the country and they have played like it up to this point.

Arkansas vs Georgia Prediction: Spread

Seeing an 18.5 point spread for a battle of Top 10 teams is shocking and it speaks to just how well Georgia has played this season. This also doesn’t give Arkansas much credit for its 4-0 start to the year, and the Razorbacks will be using this as motivation.

Both teams can really defend, and it’s hard to see either team hitting on many big plays when they have the ball. Because of this, the game should be tight throughout, and there isn’t going to be a big spread either way.

The best bet to make in this matchup is to take the Arkansas Razorbacks +18.5.

Arkansas vs Georgia Prediction: MoneyLine

Since Georgia is such a big favorite when it comes to the spread, it’s no surprise to see them as overwhelming favorites on the moneyline as well. It’s typically not wise to take a team that is -1100 with a wager, but it’s also not a good decision to bet against Georgia at home.

Arkansas does appear to have what it takes to keep this game close, but they aren’t quite good enough to pull off an upset over Georgia in Athens. The Bulldogs are the best team in this matchup, and they will keep their perfect record with a win over the Razorbacks on Saturday.

  • Free Prediction: Georgia Bulldogs -1100

Arkansas vs Georgia Prediction: Total

The Arkansas Razorbacks are giving up just 14.5 points per game, while the Georgia Bulldogs are holding teams to just six points per contest. These are two of the best defensive teams in the country, and the offenses are going to have a tough time moving the football.

Both teams have shown the ability to move the football at times, but this game will feel like an old-school SEC matchup. This conference used to be won by running the football and great defenses, and that is what it will take to win this matchup.

28 points should win this game, and that will mean that the total will stay under 48.5.
