Clippers vs Suns Game 3 Prediction

by Aaron YadgaroffJune 23, 2021

Game 2 of the Los Angeles Clippers versus the Phoenix Suns was one of the best games of the NBA Playoffs so far. Now we’re focusing on Clippers vs Suns game 3 since there are lots of high-value betting options for us to check out!

The Phoenix Suns won the second game 104-103 with Deandre Ayton scoring the go-ahead basket with .7 seconds left off of an inbound alley-oop pass from Jae Crowder.

Devin Booker is looking like one of the best players in the league even without future Hall of Famer Chris Paul to his side. Chris Paul will hopefully be back for game 3 after contracting COVID.

But Booker did not even play that well in Game 2. His five field goals matched his fewest of the postseason and his 31.2% shooting was his worst since May 13, the regular season’s third-to-last game.

It was the product of “some more attention to detail,” said Patrick Beverley, his primary antagonist, with whom Booker knocked heads in the third quarter, which led Booker to receive stitches on his nose and Beverley to have a gash closed with a bandage.

The collision took Booker out of the game for a bit, but he was back on the court in no time to lead his team to an important victory and a 2-0 lead in the series.

Clippers vs Suns Game 3 Preview and Picks

The Clippers do know a thing or two about being down 2-0 in a series. They were down 2-0 in their first-round match against the Dallas Mavericks and were able to bring it back and win in seven games 4-3. As well as being down 2 games to the Utah Jazz.

With no Kawhi Leonard, the Clippers lose one of the best players in the league and best defenders in the league. If Leonard doesn’t return in this series it may be very difficult for the Clippers to win this series.

If Chris Paul returns for game 3, this series will be very difficult with no Kawhi Leonard for the Clippers.

There is optimism within the Phoenix Suns organization that Chris Paul, out for the start of the Western Conference finals because of the league’s health and safety protocols, could return for Game 3 on Thursday in Los Angeles, sources told ESPN.

Game 3 will be played in Los Angeles at the Staples Center where Chris Paul called home for years. I expect it to be a great game with high-flowing offense.

Paul George will be super important in this series. He is known to not always be the greatest playoff player and has shown great glimpses in the playoffs with Leonard injured, which could be big for our Clippers vs Suns Game 3 preview.

Suns: 107

Clippers: 100
