Bucks vs. Heat NBA Betting Preview
Bucks vs. Heat preview: The Milwaukee Bucks will play host to the Miami Heat on Saturday night in what is sure to be a heavily contested battle.
The Heat protected their home court and came out on top against the Eastern Conference best Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night in a blowout victory.
The Bucks, on the other hand, came up with the victory against a shorthanded Indiana Pacers team on the same night.
Both teams are battling for better playoff seeding, as the Bucks hope to sneak into the second seed in the East, and the Heat hope they can earn a fourth place, as they currently sit just a half a game behind the Atlanta Hawks behind that spot.
Bucks vs. Heat – ODDS
The spread for Tuesday night is set at -5.5 Bucks. The over/under is slated at 232.
Bucks Look to Improve Playoff Positioning
It’s no secret that the Bucks want to steal the second seed away from the Nets, as that could be the difference between them facing a lesser talented team coming out of the play-in tournament or the Heat, Hawks, and New York Knicks.
The key to this game, as is most games, is getting Giannis Antetokounmpo going and putting him in a position where he can take advantage of open lanes.
The Bucks also have plenty of shooters to surround the reigning two-time MVP with, as Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday, and Donte DiVincenzo can all make you pay if they’re left wide open.
The Bucks are currently fifth in offensive rating this season, so the Heat will have their work cut out for them in trying to stop the Bucks from getting drives to the rim, or open shot attempts off.
Heat Look to Continue Winning Ways over Bucks
The Heat are coming off a big time victory over the Sixers, as they were able to limit Joel Embiid, a favorite to finish high in the MVP race, to just six points. Bam Adebayo defended Embiid for 5:32 minutes, limiting him to just three shot attempts in that time span. Embiid only had nine shot attempts in the game, so the Heat’s defense clearly did their job.
The Heat surprisingly gave the Bucks a gentleman sweep last season in the second round of the playoffs down in the Orlando bubble, which gives many people the perception that they own the Bucks.
In two games this season, Adebayo was able to limit Antetokounmpo to just 5-of-13 shooting in 8:26 minutes spent defending him. The Heat have proven that if they’re able to build a wall inside the paint, then Antetokounmpo will have trouble scoring the basketball, as he isn’t the most prolific shooter.
Bucks vs. Heat Betting Prediction: Bucks Win
This will be close, but the Bucks are home and will definitely bring their ‘A’ game to keep their hopes for the second seed alive. If they win the next two games and the Nets lose at least one of their next two games, then the Bucks will earn the second seed.
