Big Boxing Bets 07/07/2021

Timothy Tszyu

  • Boxing Record:18-0, 14 KO’s
  • Best Betting Odds: -2500 (BET365)

Stevie Spark

  • Boxing Record:12-1,11 KO’s
  • Best Betting Odds: +1800 (5DIMES)

Fight Preview

Tim “The Soul Taker ” Tszyu will take on late replacement Steve Spark, as his original opponent Michael Zerafa (28-4)  pulled out due to travel concerns. In a last minute turn of events, Zerafa explained his reasoning to withdraw from the fight was due to the recent Covid outbreak in Australia. Special accommodations were offered to keep the fight in place, such as private jets and weight in relocation but Zerafa’s team did not budge.

Replacement Steve Spark is no slouch with a 12-1 record, his only loss being a decision in his second pro fight. He sports a 92% knockout rate in his 13 pro fights, this is no easy fight for Tszyu by any means. Sparks story leading up to this fight is straight out of a Rocky movie, he will be fighting on a week’s notice and was working his part-time job at a pub when he got called for the fight.

“Fighter’s fight! This is Cinderella Man. This is Rocky. This is my golden ticket,”

says Spark.

Tsyzu likes to let his hands go as well, with 14 knockouts and a 78% knockout rate. He is the clear favourite heading into the fight at -2500, and his comments leading up to the fight indicate he is well aware of this.

“Look, it’s good to have dreams, it’s good to have belief, it’s good to have vision,”

Tszyu said, speaking of Spark’s underdog story.

“But once we get in the ring, all that disappears. You get into my territory, you get into my zone, you get into my cage, and there’s only one thing that happens: the hope, the soul, and everything gets taken away and I’m in control.”

Tsyzu has stopped his last four opponents and knocked out common opponent Jack Brubaker in the 4th round, while Spark beat him by decision. Expect fireworks in this one like it’s the 4th of July.

Liam Wilson vs. Joe Noynay

  • Best Betting Odds: -440(5DIMES)

Joe Noynay

  • Boxing Record: 18-2,7KO’s
  • Best Betting Odds: +450(PointsBET)

Fight Preview

Billed as Australia vs. Philippines, we have the challenger Liam Wilson taking on WBO Asia Pacififc Super Featherweight title holder, Joe “JawBreaker ” Noynay.

Noynay has been inactive for 19 months during the pandemic, while Wilson has fought 4 times during the same time span. Unlike the travel issues in the main card, Noynay who will be the first foreign to fight in Australia during covid 19 had no issues traveling to fight.

“If you have a big heart, you come. You come to the fight,” said Noynay as quoted by Fox Sports. “I’m away from my girlfriend, my family, my friends. It’s a big sacrifice. I’ve been alone for two weeks, training. I’m happy to be free.” Noynay said following two weeks of quarantine.

Wilson’s comments leading up to the fight have been nothing but respectful for the champion.

“He’s very, very classy. Probably the best technical boxer I will have fought in the professional ranks and I’m excited for that,”

he said.

“I feel like the last three fights have been against sluggers, brawlers and it’s been pretty hard to showcase my skill how I’ve wanted.

I expect this fight to take some time to get started as both fighters are very technically sound. Noynay will need a few rounds to shake off any ring rust, and Wilson is sure to respect the champion’s experience early on. I see this fight going the distance with a decision being hard to call as I would not want to be Noynay fighting in a pro Wilson stadium.

Wade Ryan vs. Troy O’Meley

Big Boxing Bets 07/07/2021

Wade Ryan

  • Boxing Record: 18-9, 6 KO’s
  • Best betting Odds: -165(5DIMES)

Troy O’Meley

  • Boxing Record:11-1, 2 KO’s
  • Best betting Odds: +145(5DIMES)

Fight Preview

In their first bout on December 5th 2020, Wade Ryan won a close fight for the vacant IBF Super Welterweight title by split decision. This fight was the only blemish on O’Meley’s record and came after a lengthy lay off of 9 months.

Wade “Mayo” Ryan always stays ready and fights consistently which led to him catching O’Meley slipping.  Staying true to this Ryan has a TKO victory under his belt while waiting for this rematch while O’Meley has decided to spend the extra time  in the gym. This will be another close fight but I believe this time it goes O’Meley’s way.
