PLL Championship Betting Odds – Who Will Win It All?
PLL betting is an underrated gem. Of all major sports around the world, the most unpredictable games come out of the game of Lacrosse. In my experience, the best teams can lose on a dime, and the worst can pull out a win against the best teams in the league.
This last week of PLL games was one to remember. Three games ended in a one score differential, and two of the best teams in the league faced off for one of the highest seeds.
The way the games are being played now, there’s really no tell at who is going to win the championship. Records don’t show team ability, and the PLL Championship betting odds prove that to the highest degree.
That’s what I’m here for. After week 4, Championship betting odds have shifted to separate the good from the bad. I’m going to analyze this, tell you what I think, and guide you as you enter the wonderful, stress-filled world of PLL betting.
Comparing Championship Odds to Standings
Of our 8 competitors, this is where the teams stand for Draft Kings championship odds and their power rankings respectively:
Whipsnakes +350: 2nd
Atlas +350: 3rd
Chrome +450: 1st
Archers +475: 4th
Redwoods +750: 6th
Waterdogs +750: 5th
Chaos +850: 8th
Cannons +1000: 7th
There’s a bit of confusion amongst this list. The Chrome started the season dead last in championship odds, so holding them off from the first overall spot is somewhat reasonable.
The Chaos positioning is questionable. They are the only team in the league that hasn’t won a game, and have the worst score differential to match. The only reason why I can PARTIALLY fathom why this team isn’t last in Championship odds is due to their roster.
This Chaos team is made up of a significant number of NLL players, coming off of a long, strenuous season. Although their game wasn’t pretty and they lost by an absurd 9 goals, this team has the potential to improve as long as their team can make a quick turnaround for the PLL season.
Upcoming Matchups
This next week of lacrosse will shake up the standings, regardless of the outcomes. Most notable, the Atlas and Chrome face off in Minneapolis, which will make a significant impact on the top three in league standings.
Another interesting, yet less notable game is the Cannons and Chaos. The two bottom seeds of the league, the Chaos are looking to bring a win to the program and prove bettors why ranking them above the Cannons was correct.
The other two matches are the Whipsnakes and Waterdogs match alongside the Archers and Redwoods. The Redwoods made a stand this week, holding the No. 2 ranked Whipsnakes to a one score victory, proving that they have the ability to rattle opposing matchups. Lastly, the Waterdogs just blew out the Chaos in an incredible offensive performance that builds a lot of confidence next week, and after a close game with the Redwoods, the Whipsnakes are on upset watch in Minnesota.
