Hornets vs Nets Prediction
We are back with another NBA betting preview and prediction, this time for the Hornets vs Nets. The last time these two teams met on December 27 in the Spectrum Center, where the Charlotte Hornets won outright 106-104. Gordon Hayward had a good game with 28 points, seven assists, and six assists. Terry Rozier added 19 points, five assists, and four assists.
This is the first time the Charlotte Hornets will face James Harden in a Nets uniform. Kevin Durant, who will not play today, had 29 points, four assists, and three assists in their last matchup. Kyrie Irving put up 25 points, six assists, and three rebounds.
The Charlotte Hornets (24-22) are playing without LaMelo Ball for the rest of the season, giving Terry Rozier, Devonte Graham, and Gordon Hayward usage and minute boosts. Even without LaMelo, they have been 6-4 in their last ten games.
The Eastern Conference is very competitive as the Hornets are barely hanging onto fourth place. The difference between 4th place and missing the playoffs is only separated by 2.5 games.
The Brooklyn Nets have not missed a beat without Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving missing a few games. The Nets (33-15) are 9-1 in their last ten games and are tied for first place in the Eastern Conference. James Harden is a triple-double threat almost every single night and is making a strong case for MVP.
The Nets have recently added LaMarcus Aldridge as he was recently waived by the San Antonio Spurs. This could be their last move as they make a run for the title.
Charlotte Hornets Preview
The Hornets were able to mitigate the amazing performances by Russell Westbrook’s triple-double and Rui Hachimura 30 point performance. The Hornets were able to take advantage of the Washington Wizards, who played without the NBA’s leading scorer Bradley Beal.
Terry Rozier had 27 points on 10-20 from the field, while Gordon Hayward added 26 points, six assists, and a season-high 11 rebounds, winning 114-104. The Hornets have won 4 of its last five games since Rookie of the Year favorite went down. The Hornets will have to maintain this level of success in order to move on to the postseason.
Brooklyn Nets Preview
The Nets took on the struggling Houston Rockets team last night. Kyrie Irving had 31 points and a season-high 12 assists. At the end of the night, the Nets are sitting at the top of the Eastern Conference as they dethroned their division rivals (Philadelphia 76ers). The Nets started a run midway through the final quarter to turn a six-point deficit into a lead.
Unfortunately, they had to do it without their star James Harden who sat in the fourth quarter due to hamstring tightness against his former team. This will be something that will have to be monitored as the line could drastically change if Harden is ruled out tomorrow. The Nets do not have to rush Harden back as the team is basically guaranteed a playoff spot and still have star Kyrie Irving on the floor.
- Hornets are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record
- Hornets are 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall
- Nets are 0-4 ATS in their last four home games
- Nets are also 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall
Hornets vs Nets Prediction
Harden’s injury is something to monitor. Whether if he plays or not, the Hornets will be getting Malik Monk back as he did not play Tuesday against the Washington Wizards. Expect an exciting and close match, so it would be a good position to take the Charlotte Hornets plus the points.
Prediction: Charlotte Hornets +8.50 Points
