St Louis Blues vs. Nashville Predators Betting Pick and Prediction

by Brendan WalkApril 17, 2022

The St Louis Blues (45-20-10) match up against the Nashville Predators (43-27-5) in Nashville on Sunday night. St. Louis is having an excellent season and currently sit in second place, one point ahead of the Minnesota Wild in the very tight Central Division. The Nashville Predators are also having a good season and sit in fourth place above the Dallas Stars in the Central Division as well.

The two teams have matched up three times previously this season and the Blues lead the series 2-1. I am looking forward to this divisional matchup Sunday in Nashville.

St Louis Looks To Extend Win Streak

St. Louis is arguably the hottest team in the league and after their 6-5 overtime win against the Minnesota Wild, they have extended their win streak to six games. The Blues this season have earned themselves a playoff spot but unfortunately will not be able to catch the Colorado Avalanche for first place in the Central Division.

St. Louis’ biggest strength this season has been their offense. The Blues offense currently ranks fourth in the NHL for goals scored with 272 goals this season. Their offense is led by forward Vladimir Tarasenko who has recorded 72 points in 67 games played this season.

Nashville Predators Continue To Push For Playoffs

The Nashville Predators have also been playing very well and they need all the points they can get if they want to see the postseason. The Predators are currently only two points above the Dallas Stars in the division and they need a crucial win against St. Louis on Sunday night.

The Predators biggest strength this season has been their defense. The Predators currently sit in the top ten in the NHL for goals against average per game with 2.66 goals a game. The Predators defense is led by Norris candidate defenseman who has recorded 87 points in 72 games played.

Blues Will Stay Hot, Blues Money Line -120

I believe this is going to be an extremely tight divisional matchup Sunday in Nashville, but I do believe the Blues will win this game. St. Louis is currently on an eight game winning streak and their offense has been on fire, scoring six their last game against the Minnesota Wild. The Blues have also already beaten the Predators twice this season and their loss came in overtime.

St. Louis has too much momentum and they will extend their win streak on Sunday. The Blues are favored with -115 odds, the Predators are the underdog with -105 odds. The puckline is set at -1.5 for +200 for the Blues and 1.5 for -250 for the Predators. The under/over is set at 6, the over is -105, the under is -115. Blues moneyline at -115 is the pick of the night.
