Over the past three years, the Celtics come into each season with a ton of hype and high expectations to win the East. But again and again, Boston has fallen on its face and unable to live up to the expectations.

Lakers Betting Trends and Numbers to Know

The trade-off that comes with having a super team is the lack of quality depth. Because the couple of stars are taking in most of the cap space there is little left over for bench players. When Those stars are injured or out of the game things can get ugly.

Despite losing both of its superstar players, Los Angeles has been able to largely tread water in the 13 games that they have been without LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The Lakers are 6-7 over the stretch with a surprising upset of the Nets. However, take a closer look at the record and you will see that most of those wins are against the bottom feeders of the NBA, they are the Cavaliers, Magic, and Kings.

Part of the reason the Lakers are having success without their top two players is their efficiency at both ends of the court. The Lakers boast the NBA first-ranked defense, allowing 1.013 points per possession. In addition, the Lakers rank top five in effective field goal percentage at 51.7 percent and average 5.5 blocked shots per game.

The offense is a shelf of its self but they have been able to maintain a top 10 in a number of categories, 2-point shooting percentage of 54.3% and three point percentage of 47.6.
