76ers at Hawks Game 4 Preview and Betting Pick
The Atlanta Hawks host the Philadelphia 76ers for Game Four in the Eastern Conference Semifinal round at 7:30 p.m. ET Monday, June 14, currently trailing 2-1. We’re here to bring you a 76ers vs Hawks prediction.
76ers vs Hawks Game 4 Odds
According to BetRivers, the 76ers are -3.5 favorites (-112) and -150 on the money line; the Hawks are +3.5 (-109) and +125 on the money line. The over/under is set at 225.5 with identical odds on either side (-110).
- 76ers -3.5
- 225.5 O/U
So far this series, Philadelphia has been favored in every matchup: they covered both their wins and lost by four points as -4.5 favorites in game 1, during which Young had 35 points and two other Hawks players had 21. Atlanta scored 128 points as a team, their highest mark in the 2021 playoffs.
76ers vs Hawks Game 4 Keys to Win
The Hawks have not found an answer for MVP runner-up Joel Embiid, who is averaging 35.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. The 76ers’ star has outplayed his matchup, Clint Capela, who is below his season averages with 9.7 points and 11.3 rebounds.
Trae Young is in his third year and first postseason but is having a profound impact, leading his squad to a five-game upset over the New York Knicks in Round One and averaging 28 points against top-seed Philadelphia.
Philadelphia suffered a shock defeat at home in Game One and has since won two straight, although they will be without starting guard Danny Green. The 12-year veteran was diagnosed with a strained calf after playing just four minutes in game 3, and Philadelphia will miss the sound defense he has played on Young.
76ers vs Hawks Spread Prediction
In this particular matchup, I would go against the oddsmakers and favor the Hawks: they are a young and resilient group that has a leader that is large in stature despite his miniature size, giving them all of the tools to continue their playoff run.
The Hawks also have overwhelming firepower on the perimeter with Young, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Kevin Huerter, and Danilo Gallinari. Though they did not shoot well in game 3, look for them to get back to their usual ways, especially during Green’s absence.
Tobias Harris and Seth Curry have outperformed their regular-season scoring numbers thus far, and that too should be ready for a dip, given that the 76er pair has performed worse on the road this season. Additionally, nobody on Phili’s roster is used to being in the position of the prohibited favorite and is at risk of complacency due to their lead in this series.
? The Pick: Hawks +3.5 / Moneyline +125
76ers vs Hawks Over/Under Prediction
As far as the total score, the “over” has to be the obvious favorite here. Philidelphia and Atlanta exceeded 225.5 in two of three games this series and did so convincingly, whereas the lone “under” reached 220. Both teams were in the top half in regular-season scoring.
Nate McMillan has been integral to the Hawks since taking over for Lloyd Pierce as the interim Head Coach, going 27-11 and raising the team’s standing in nearly every statistical category. McMillan’s group became one of the league’s most lethal offensively and are much more than a youthful bunch along for the ride.
With game four being important to both clubs— Atlanta looking to tie the series and Philadelphia hoping to put it out of reach— I expect both teams to be locked in. Joel Embiid will go for over 35 points tonight, and Trae Young will lead the Hawks with 30 and at least four threes.
? The Pick: Over 225.5 points
76ers vs Hawks Prediction Summary
Take the Hawks on the money line if you are brave and to cover if you aren’t. Also, seriously consider taking the “over.” This game should be an explosive back-and-forth affair between two of the best offensive teams in the East.
? Game 4 will tip-off at 7:30 p.m. ET on Monday evening at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
