Blues at Coyotes Betting Preview
The St. Louis Blues (7-4-2) travel to the desert for a game against the Arizona Coyotes (6-5-1). These teams have met already four times and are about to meet for the next three games after a night off. The Blues are in significant need of a win to snap a losing streak and help stay towards the West Division’s top. The NHL season is still early, but with Covid-19 affecting many different teams, division games are of more importance.
The St. Louis Blues currently rank second in the West division standings, right behind the Las Vegas Golden Knights. Brayden Schenn leads all scorers on the Blues with six goals on the season. Another leader on the team is David Perron, who leads the blues with eight assists and 13 points. In net, Jordan Binnington has six wins allowing roughly 2.64 goals per game, saving 91.3 percent of shots sent his way. The Blues are playing so many games in a row against the Coyotes due to postponements with the Minnesota Wild due to Covid-19.
The Coyotes rank below the Blues in the West division, but three consecutive games have begun to pick up much-needed ground by beating them. Arizona’s leading goal scorer is Christian Dvorak, who has seven goals on the season and also the most points with 13. Conor Garland leads all Coyotes with eight assists. For the Coyotes, goalie Darcy Kuemper has started in 10 games and has struggled to go 4-5-1, allowing 2.50 goals per game. Backup goalie Antti Raanta has done a decent job winning both of his two stats.

Last Five Games
St. Louis has had their schedule mixed up a bit, leading to a February filled with games against the Coyotes. After winning the first game against Arizona, St. Louis has now lost three straight to the Coyotes.
The Coyotes have been very efficient of late, beating St. Louis three games in a row. It seems that Arizona currently has the Blues number, but also, many of the games have been decided by only one goal and have been high scoring.
What the Future Holds
The Blues and Coyotes have already played each other four times, and after Friday’s game, the two teams will play three more head to head matchups. The Blues already haven’t fared too well against the Coyotes but still have a chance to split the season series. A split in this series would mean big things for the Blues, but the clock is ticking as the Blues need to start defeating the Coyotes.
In the four meetings between St. Louis and Arizona, the two teams have combined for over 6 goals in three of them. Expect a lot of offense and a high scoring match. When these two teams meet, avoid the under. The over in this matchup is set at 5.5, and I feel that is a very generous line. This matchup should have an over-under of at least 6.
Blues at Coyotes Odds
Blues -1.5 (+185) Moneyline (-130) Over/Under 5.5 (-110)
Coyotes +1.5 (-215) Moneyline (+120) Over/Under 5.5 (-110)
Prediction: Blues ML (-130)
In this one, I expect a bounce-back performance from Jordan Binnington and the Blues. The former Stanley Cup champion goalie has not been his best of late, but that will not hold for much longer. The key here is that the Blues have been able to keep these games close for the most part losing by only a goal. Keep an eye on the over in this one also as recent trends between these two teams expect goals to be scored.
